Fulfills US History requirement for History Majors. This course explores U.S. history via the development of popular culture. Students will study the creation and evolution of sports, music, television, and film industries to analyze how underground cultures such as hip hop and LGBT+ ballroom culture moved toward mainstream acceptance. Students will analyze a variety of sources including fashion, dance, cartoons, and radio.
