This course is an introduction to physical chemistry. The following topics are covered: thermodynamics, transport properties, chemical kinetics, quantum mechanics, and spectroscopy. Applications to biochemical systems are emphasized. Calculus II is a pre-requisite. The 2-semester Physics sequence with lab is recommended as a pre-requisite but is acceptable if taken concurrently.
