Fulfills LAMA requirement for History Majors and Minors.This course introduces students to the histories and cultures of Latina/o/x communities. The course takes a broad approach to the experiences of Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Cubans, and Central Americans. Students will explore how and why Latinas/os/xs have struggled for the right to belong and what their history can tell us about how the United States has developed as a nation and empire.
