This course provides an introduction to professional nursing, exploring nursing's history and the development of nursing knowledge grounded in theory and evidenced-based practice. The course places the study of socially just nursing practice within the tradition of liberal arts education. Engaging in critical self-reflection, students apply new value-based self-awareness to culturally congruent nursing care.
